California - Northern

That would be wonderful! I have a friend who has very small number (3)hens who fell in love with my chicks, and would like to add 3 or 4 pullets, and if they are dark, or colored eggs as well, he will be very happy. He loves his birds; built a very large coop, and run which they stay in when he is at work. So the birds would be going to a very nice home. Unfortunately I don't have any extra chicks to share, but promised to keep my eyes open for the kind of birds he would like.

Yes, please let me know when you know what sex they are. You don't have to take photos for him. I will show some of your photos in your album to get a bit of idea what they look like. They are all very pretty birds which I am sure he will really like them.

Thank you!

i will certainly let you know -- and i should be hatching some more chicks this weekend, including a group of marans/isbar olive-egger crosses which might be of interest?

Have any of you used Virkon-S disinfectant or Oxy-Sept 333? They are both approved for poultry. My adult daughter and kids are moving into my brother-in-law's small house that has been sitting "empty" for 2 or 3 years. It has been vandalized and lately at least 1 homeless man has been crashing there. I was going to say squatting there which is probably more accurate because there are feces everywhere. BIL is going to let DD and kids live there for free as long as they do all the clean up and make some necessary improvements to the house. Anyway, I thought that I would order her a disinfectant that is at least as good as bleach but not as harmful to use. Then if there is any left over, I can use it to disinfect chicken items.

Roo or Hen? 6 weeks. Thank you. It doesn't hold still.

ya the waddles ssay boy.

Im reading a lot about feeding girls and boys differently.

King Starter is 20% protein Im planning on making the switch off the purina medicated starter at 8 weeks because of the higher protein count are there any other recommendations you might make for good broiler growth of the boys.

I have used Virkon-S for Finches. It works great and is very safe...it can even be used in the water to discourage bacterial growth. Comes in a powder so it is easy to store.

Hi all. I am east of Chico. A small town called Westwood near lake Almanor and I am looking for some American game bantams any for sale near Chico area?

Thank you, Vicki! I wonder if it is more effective than oxine? I already have oxine and Tek-trol. I usually use Tek-trol for heavy duty but it is not good to use around cats and my daughter will have 4 of them living inside at her house.
