no i need to move some runs around but raised some fully crele olive eggers. I need to get my rear in gear and hatch more

I have Bantam Brown red Ameraucana
Yes, Jason. Please do get your rear in gear. I mean really, get your priorities straight! Full time job, wife, kids... chickens . You're such a slacker. ; )

The bantam Ameraucanas sound interesting. I would only want a couple since I have a yard full of bantams. I would love to wait til you have the Crele Olive Eggers available so I can get them both at the same time. Do you still raise Amelias? I have one Amelia hen left but no mate for her.

Well, the hen is no better and no worse today. She's lively, eating and drinking, poo normal, but that leg just gives out. She'll take a couple of steps fine, and then it will give out. Really hoping it isn't Merek's, but all I can do is wait and see.

How old is she? Mareks has the active part and then the cancer two years later. If she is not a young pullet, then she likely does not have mareks.

Usually, all chicks get mareks soon after hatch. Did you move her to your hospital cage?

no more amelia's the crele olive egger deal kinda put a stop to them

Don't mean to butt-in, but I don't think I've ever heard of Amelias? I would love to see a photo.
Amelias are not a breed but rather a project. They are a cross between Crele Penedesencas (dark brown eggs) and Cream Legbars (blue eggs). The resulting chicks lay olive green eggs, and the chicks are auto-sexing, like the foundation stock.

The project was called Amelias in honor of a hen that liked to fly, and some how we all started calling this project "Amelias". I started the project a few years ago and gave eggs away to a few peopole on this board and sold some chicks. I cut way back in my projects, and Amelias was one of the projects I let go.

I still have one Amelia hen. She is 3 years old and still extremely well. I would like to see if anyone is still breeding them, as I would like to get my hands on a few eggs. I miss all those beautiful olive eggs.

Looks like Ron posted a photo Amelias.

Cute Amelias! I breed my Splash Marans rooster to Cream Legbar girls and get a great OE, all blue. this year I will try a CL roo over a very dark laying Marans prject bird, and see if resulting birds lay the same color of olive egg! Fun stuff...
