In the Brooder
Did they show up last night?
They didn't. I just did another search and put up "lost chickens" flyers around the neighborhood, on the random chance someone knows what happened. My wife's theory is neighborhood kids took em, but makes me wonder what they'd do with them, I'm sure their parents would wonder where they came from.
Turns out I was wrong about which chickens, didn't look closely enough last night in the dark, they actually took both jersey giants. Our docile sex link that lets people pick it up happily is the one we still have. So even weirder.
I understand coyotes are rare in the city, but if one was here, would it take two chickens? Or do coyotes travel in packs? (I grew up out of state, no idea about coyotes). Are there predator birds that could swoop down and take em? I looked pretty well today and definitely no feathers anywhere nearby (well technically I did find one, but one is nothing).
They're only 3 months old, don't even lay eggs yet, although I guess if it was a thief they probably wouldn't know that. I'll check craigslist just in case tho.
