Chicken mom here. I have 6 five month old chicks 2 RIRs 2 buff Orpingtons 1 Orpington and 1 golden Leghorn. I thought my Leghorn was a rooster turns out she's not. I am looking for a rooster preferably around 5 or 6 months. I'm located in tehama county...

I live in redding and have quite a few roosters that need a home badly. Where in Tehama are you located. I'm from cottonwood.. :)

Yes I did inquire at one time but I don't want to drop her off at a rescue. Like I said I couldn't let her go to anything less then a happy home. :)

Good luck finding a home. Will the breeder take her back? I breed and its in my contract to return the dog to me if you can't keep it.

Yes he would but I wouldn't do that. I found her online and the post said family raised and all this other stuff. When we drove 4 hours to pick her up the guy had her and she was like 2 months older then he said. Terrified but we thought that was from the drive. He told us he doesn't keep any dogs in the house so she wasn't family raised. She hadn't even been inside yet and at her age she should have been potty trained. He was pretty dishonest and I don't think she deserves to go back there where she will just be locked in an outdoor run day or night. Just shows to be careful where you get your animals.. we just purchased an invisible fence from walmart. It's a Longshot but our last resort to keep her in the yard. Wish us luck.. :)

Good luck with the invisible fence. What about a big kennel run like the sell at Costco?
You could keep her in there when you are not in the yard to watch her. Is she fixed?

We have crates we keep her in when we leave. The problem is she breaks out of them. I worry she would do the same with a pen outside and get taken to the pound. She is not spayed. The breeder recommended waiting a year until she was fully grown then we jus haven't had time. Things are always so fast paced here. We usually don't even have a second to slow down. It can be miserable sometimes..
