Ive been experimenting using sprouted grains for the past couple of months. Im really liking the blend of Wheat Oats Barley and BOSS but Im trying to find a better source for buying the grains. I have about 50lbs of Wheat and I know where to get BOSS easily. But Im having trouble with Barley and Oat Seeds and Id like to add Peas does anyone know a source near Contra Costa County for single grain/seed bags. Or seed by the pound. Ive read that Pearled Barley wont sprout but Im wondering if it would still be good to soak and feed to them even if it doesnt sprout.

Thank you. I'll do that. I took a lot of photos planning to do just that. :)
They will love all those greens. Most of my coop builds have been from salvaged materials.
Aren't they beautiful? My two are huge and they look so regal compared to my other birds. How is your one lavender girl?

Here is her picture during a bad rain storm.

dewtattoo, do you mind telling me what you used to trim the arched door? I used several mitered cuts, on straight trim, and it doesn't look bad but it sure doesn't look as nice as yours.

The grands want a playhouse and my design is an "old west" theme. So the top of the faux front needs a pliable trim. Any suggestions?

Sure. I used (3) pieces of 1x6 and I drew 1/3 of the arch on each board. Then I cut out the three and attached them to the door arch. Before painting I used Bondo Auto Body Filler and filled any cracks that showed where the boards met, and I filled all of the screw head holes also.

I hope that helps

You treat them both the same!

What do they look like?

I plan on treating them with premethrin. Wanting to learn what kind to see if they may have been responsible for a recent loss i had. These were bright red. I saw them in the coop under hay etc. They weren't out and about. They were bright red and grey. So far i haven't seen them on my chickens. Just all over the coop in the crevices and nesting boxes.
