Since we don't get far from home anyway that's not much of an issue. Just getting to the post office to pick them up.
I've got wyandottes and it seems at least 1 is broody at any given time. I also have orp bantams and oegb,'s that will go at the drop of a hat.

I got BBS orps from them. They look nice so far. Also one dom but I think he is a boy. They rest are polish. They diddent have red polish so they sent white and buff. Bunch of them are boys also.

Some years seem to be male heavy.
I ordered dark Brahma bantams 3 times a few years back. Each order was for 5 chicks. I ended up with 1 pullet out of 15 chicks. The 15 Polish I ordered for a friend, 2 females. The d'anvers were not much better.

I thought their minimum order was 25. At least it is now.

Anyway, issue is resolved. I left a note at a nearby neighbor with a large flock. She brought over 2 hens last Friday and I've been keeping them separated with a small chicken tractor but within sight of each other. The two new ones are getting used to the coop and all my food scrap attention. I think I'll put my older hen in the coop tonight and see how they wakeup together. They've been posturing between the wire. It's going to be interesting -but my girl has a hidey-place in the coop, so she'll be fine eventually.
