When I lived in San Jose, Cali. I would refer to it as, I live in the City. Then, when I lived in Hayward, Cali. I would say, I live down in the Bay Area.
Now, I Live in Upper Lake, California. When people want to know where I'm at, I say... California.. about 2 hours from Sacramento... or I live in Lake County or, I would say... "Up in Clear Lake".
Julie from Cali. ~yikes, I forgot what this post is about. It must be rambling... lol

Yep that's what we call the rest of it, or all of it if we are away from "The Bay" like now. To clarify, I mean when we are away from home. Most delivery folks etc. consider us part of California (much to dismay of most Renoites), I mean our airport is even called Reno/Tahoe International. We may as well accept it!
Oops, I'm gonna have the Nevada folks mad at me again!
JK Nevadans, JK!
When we moved here I was told that we Californians were welcome as long as we left our politics at home! Little did they know that most Californians are just like they are here in Reno. It's that dang liberal Bay Area that they should be fearing!
Even most of the Bay Areans that move here start to think like a conservative! Alright, alright! I'll hush about politics! I just really miss the more forward thinking of the Bay Area.

Why not? When I went to "The Cabos" in Mexico (San Jose del Cabo is one and Cabo San Lucas is the other) they deemed me a native San Josean because I was from San Jose (the bartender and I even created a new drink called "The San Jose")! We didn't care that the two cities were in different countries. You count as a Californian!
