Wow!!!! I don't want to even think about how much mine is... I keep telling myself I'll figure it out after I start selling some hatching eggs and recouping some of my feed costs! So, i'm gonna live obliviously for the next month or so. :-)
The only reason I know, is we have one cc that is only used at the feed store and Home Depot for coop building supplies. I can't seem to get ahead. I send them $2,500 per month and never make much dent in the balance, just keep up with the current charges. Ouch!

The pour on is oil based and does not mix with with the water so you can't put it into water.

Generic injectable ivermectin cost me $27.00 last time I bought it.

Claim is that injectable kills the worms better but pour on kills the lice, mites and fleas better. IDK though.

Ron

Thanks for the info! I just ordered the 1% injectable kind on Amazon (I looove online shopping!)

Ouch. That's like half our income.

Someone will correct me, but two drops on the back of the head for pour on Ivermectin. Repeat in 10 to 14 days.

Do a search for Ivomec dosage on here. The most common I found was as I said earlier. This of course is for the pour on. It absorbs very quickly and is not oil based. It's also in a screw top bottle, so no syringe required. Although I used a syringe barrel in order to make dropping easier. I have those on hand and didn't have an extra eye dropper.

LF - one drop under each wing, 3-4 drops on the vent.
Bantam - one drop under each wing, 1-2 drops on the vent.

I was treating a light weight breed of LF, so I went with the wing drops and 3 on the vent.

You wouldn't want to over/under dose too much, but there is a fairly wide range of safety. You do need to repeat. It will only kill live parasites, it does nothing for the eggs. You must repeat as each set of parasite eggs would hatch.

The reason for going with under wing and on vent, it's easy to find bare skin there. It does no good to put it on feathers, you really need to find skin.

Ok the bad just got worse. I went and did my morning chicken check up and 1 one of 8 weekers was laying on her side completely listless and unable to stand, looking so tired. Her crop is not impacted. Copper became ill Friday evening that we noted. It's Thursday morning. Wednesday during the day they were all acting normally. Thursday mid-morning one BO 8 week pullet- I doubt she is going to last an hour. She will not drink, lift her head- nothing. I am trying not to freak out. Copper is still chipper. The rest of flock are dashing around with normal energy.

Help guys!!! What does this sound like? Ron? It is absolutely NOT respiratory. Breathing is dry and smooth. I laid her in a basket with puppy pad away from all my birds (not in the house). This one IS going to die. I can see she doesn't have much left. My MIL let's them out of their coop into their run around 6am. She was in the run. Which means she managed to go from the coop to the run. None of the other birds bothered her though.

I need to get on the other side of this. I cannot let the EE's into the flock either until I manage this.

Thanks Deb and Ron!

I am going to treat them all tonight with my husband's help. How soon should I retreat? I read 10 days correct? (just double checking)

Omg that's 3/4 of my rent! Are you able to make the money back eventually?

I still think it is Cocci and Copper showed the symptoms first. If it is Cocci, Corid in the water will perk them up quickly. It is a 5 to 7 day treatment.

I am wishing the best for you!
