California - Northern

Good morning, All! I'm loving the pics you are sharing! Beautiful Bresse, Molly! I am doing a research project on Bresse and any other top flavor meat birds. I would love any info that any of you have gathered on them if you are willing to share!

The 2013 Pacific Poultry Breeders Assoc show will be held January 26-27, 2013 at San Joaquin County Fairgrounds - 1658 S Airport Way Stockton, CA 95206. This is a fun event. Kid-friendly, free admission and free parking, a great opportunity to see lots of beautiful birds and meet up with folks.


Ron, I will let you know when I have the lard. The butcher hasn't called me for pick up, yet. Do you like liver? Have you ever made liver pate? Does it taste as strong (gross) as liver or more like liverwurst? I figured someone who eats kippered snacks might know.

Liverwurst, braunschweiger and liver pate Gross? I tease my family by buying liverwurst every once in a while. I like it as a mayonnaise, cheese and lettuce sandwich. They all think it is gross too.

Liver Pate should be weaker in flavor depending on what is mixed into it. This recipe has a bunch of spices, Brandy and Madera wine that should cut the liver flavor.

I am not allowed to cook liver in the house sadly. The retching sounds have a way of dulling my appetite too.
 
If anyone is going to the Reno show next weekend (to show or just to look), I got an email from the show sec. last night, there are over 800 birds entered! A new record for them.

Are you getting the breese from greenfire? Are they the only ones that have them?

No I'm getting them directly from GFF. But the source I'm getting them from did. And he will have them available this spring. Probably cheaper....
The auctions are getting up there! But I think their well worth the investment.

I guess I'm patiently waiting for your BLUE partridge Brahma auction.

I did plan to go. But it doesn't look like ill be able to make it. My brother said he might make it because he'll be in Reno. So if he does go ill have him take pictures .

I just cannot wait until the Anderson show! Hopefully ill have some cool stuff to take up there and show off!
