My roo Pharows' main lady (he only has one) is sitting on eggs and he is SO unhappy...I know exactly what gordie is going thru....I moved miss broodie upstairs in the coop so Pharow is not alone at night...That was the hardest time for him......

I tried to move one of my Old English hens in there with him for company, but that didn't work. He just wants Hedwig back.

joey i think im gonna have cara bring me some kings feed and try that out.....so many people i talk to say its awesome and the birds look amazing on it....im telling you jack dods birds even in molt look like porcelian statues

and yes sue i cant wait.....this weekend ill be candling the 5 new eggs i placed under broody.....crossing fingers as those eggs are from my wheat germ project....i also have 2 in the incubator due to hatch next week that are from the very start of the wheat germ project so we shall see

I use the Kings Show & Grow for all my banties, and the Natural Layer pellets for my layer flock. I liked their chick starter too, it was a really nice small crumble, easy for the baby seramas to eat. I used that for my first batch of babies, until I ran out, and had to go with the mash. There is only one feed store around my house that carries it, and its a bit of a hike to get there, but I could grab a bag for you. I'm sure I'll be refilling my barrels before our September meet up. Which formula do you want?

does food affect their fertility that much...???


i use this local feed store's custom blend... they call it junior mix... it's a gamecock mix... 18% protein, has everything i would ever want and 17 bucks a 50lb bag... and let me tell you... i give this to all of my birds... even my pigeons and doves...

my shamo have a 100% hatch rate so far... all of my OEGB had decent fertility rates at 7 months of age... and my pigeons and doves don't stop making babies... everytime a pigeon is somewhat feathered up, they are both sitting on another two eggs... i'm gonna start giving it to my finches... see if they start breeding like the roaches (figurita pigeons)...

just got home from camping went and checked the birds and ya!

we have four more serama chicks ! i'l get pics in the morning and post them . got two more brooides to go

. this brings are total to 25 chicks hatched so far .

wish you would have been around with those boys when i was down there you would probley have one less they are very very nice looking . you are doing a very nice job on your breedings
