Sue, my Australorp dumped her babies at about 3-1/2- 4 weeks. They pretty much were on their own, much to their, and my dismay

I sold them last week at 4-5 weeks old, two girls. They were escaping the regular coop/run when I wasn't home, and I was afraid for them. The doggone kite hawks have been hanging around, and we have a neighbor cat that frequents our yard. I thought it best to rehome them, then find body parts.

We miss them terribly, but I'm positive they are in a safer home. They guy that bought them even had Seramas!!!

ya mine just did it the other day just started beating up the baby and my other broodie took it in these two hens of mine do this every time so now i have a broodie on eggs and a one month old sitting with here for safety from her mom crazy birds !
