Hi Violet! I'm in San Marcos. The country feed store in Vista orders a lot of different kinds of chickens throught the year. Ask to see the calander of schedules chick shipments to see what breeds they are getting on what days. If you don't see what you want, they will order you what you want.

Hello neighbors, One of my hens has been a different in her laying routine. A firstI found eggs without hard shells, just soft membranes as in the lining of the eggs just sitting under the roost at least three differnt times. Also she is a little less agressive than the other three. Yesterday I found this huge eggs in the box. Poor girl, I know it was some effort to push that baby out. Ha Ha. This morning there is another larger egg, not so huge but still bigger than the others. No wonder she has a problem laying.

CONFESSION I just had a very bad experience killing all the beautiful and expensive eggs from two BYC peeps. I did everything wrong for the start and then reseached sites here on BYC. I want to recomend One Posting Dry Incubation

By Bill Worrell on his site. I found the listing here on BYC. Maybe next time I can get better results from my LG because I sure would like to feed my addiction acquired here

Hello fancbrd4me02, Yes I have noticed that there are more negative comments about LG incubators but I am not sure I am ready to invest in another item just now. How are the chicks ? I hope to drive down to San Marcos/SD if and when I hear about that blue/black Amereucana rooster that I promised my hens. They keep asking me about him ! ha ha

What model hovabator do you have and how much is a brinsea ?

Hi, I don't see any posts from my area. I'm supposed to be in the So CA area since I'm about 150 miles from LA but I live in the high desert in a small community west of Ridgecrest just off hwy395. It gets hot here in summer and cold in winter but my chickens manage just fine with lots of shade and plenty of water.

Hello bausten, Well yes you do see posts from your area. I am a senior lady who lives in Ridgecrest ! What style chickens lay eggs for you ? We should visit sometime especially since I am retired. PM to me if you do want to visit and as matter of fact I have been considering a trip to the hardware store in Inyokern . WhenI remember what it is that I wanted to buy. Ha

Hi flower. I hatched 2 chicks last week that appear to be porcelain. I have another hatch schedules for early next week. I hope all goes well. I should have enough babies for you soon. I use my LG as a hatcher.

I am looking for homes for: (I'll try to post some pics later)

Crevecour (Black with a beard & crest, similar to Polish) Roo. He has great manner, no agression problems.

4 Mille Fleur Cochin Project Cockerels about 8 months old. The fathers are Mille Fleur and the moms were Black
Mottled. The Roos are black mottled with birchin markings around the neck. Very pretty.
PM me if interested, I am in San Diego, North County
