I'm waiting for my first eggs to appear. I got new baby chicks during the middle of august and am hoping for eggs any day. We have 3 bantam Cochins. 2 brahmas, 8 EE, 1 BLR Wyandotte, 1 Americana. 1 welsummer. So 16 girls. We got our permanent coop done in November and we love it. Now we are just always working on tweaks of water containers, feed troughs, bedding for deep litter and making the run more pasture worthy. It's been hard work but fun too.

Update from the Crazy H-Bar Ranch and Rehabilitation Center: Wow, did we get a lot of work done at the Ranch these last 2 days. We are in the process of removing the palm tree in the back...Almost all the palm fronds are cut down. Had to stop stop because we filled our trash can and the neighbors, and waiting to ask a 3rd neighbor for their can... So today we collected 3 eggs first thing this morning.... We took a dozen with us for everyone in the Dentist office. Got home and picked up egg's number 4, 5, and 6.... Thank you girls, Good Job. I decided today would be a good day to let the flock free range in our garden, so my son and I conducted a mini-cattle drive and moved the everyone into the garden. I think they loved it, but Mrs. Crazy H, wasn't as enthusiastic because they nibbled quite a bit of what's left in the garden. So as we were cleaning up the tree mess my son checks the large coop....BAZINGA, egg #7. WOOO HOOO, we finally broke the 6 egg mark. All of the ranch hands are eggcited. Now that it was time to wrangle the flock back into the run, my son pops his head into the small coop, and WOOO Nilly, he pulls out #8 egg of the day... Wow, we didn't expect anymore eggs today... With all the work and chores done for the day, and now relaxing watching some TV... Mrs. H Bar, storms into the Cave, holding a beautiful chocolate brown egg....Yuup, that's right...#9.....Now we are Eggstatic.... Gotta go, it's time for supper...as they say on the Ranch. Be good humans everybody..See ya!
WOW, I know this is a week late, but what a nice BONANZA of eggies you got that day! Are the girlz still cranking them out for ya? :fl
