Hi froggiesheins. I checked the date I got her again, and she is close to 3 years old, not 2 yrs. old. Maybe too old for your friend. I am in Garden Grove, Orange County.

hosspak is selling me his big lite Brahma hen and she needs a sister........Prospective hen will be living on 8,000sq ft. of real grass! get fed high quality food and be used occasionally for a high end petting zoo. There is already a Buff Orp and a RIR and now a lite Brahma so we want a hen that is different in color and looks than these 3 girls.

I have a crested swedish flower hen (mille fleur colored) and a wheaten ameraucana hen. The flower hen started laying in the autumn, and the ameraucana last summer.

Hi everyone I purchased eggs to participate In the Easter hatch along. I will not be able to join after all. Is anyone interested in buying the eggs from me? It will be 48 eggs and I purchased them for $80- from dmrippy. I expect them to arrive fri or sat. Let me know, I am willing to deliver them! Thanks, Carrie

Hi again, I just wanted to get everyone's take on marek's in the flock. Has anyone ever dealt with it first hand? After you have a confirmed outbreak, do you still sell chicks that have been exposed?

There is very good diary thread by Bens hens that deals with a Mareks out beak.

I vaccinate my chicks for Mareks. I also accurate for Newcastle disease, fowl pox and coryza.

It's so hard for me to get love birds I don't want to risk losses to diseases that are both prevalent and preventable.

as far as I understand the vaccine for marek's doesn't prevent them from getting the virus, just helps them not to get symptoms. What do you do when there is a outbreak and have a combination of vaccinated and unvaccinated birds? I will be vaccinating all my chicks that hatch from now on, but it doesn't mean they won't catch it.
