Ha ha! We just plan to roll all the startup expenses into the first egg. We'll embellish it with gold flakes and enjoy THE MOST EXPENSIVE EGG EVER. After that, it's just the cost of chicken feed.

:goodpost: As I sit here typing I have 3 sets of eyes looking at me on the arm rest and .. well....them $36 eggs are worth every penny! :love

These are the 3 Stooges, my favorites. They come in the house at night for safe keeping, well actually to entertain me.

These are from their 5 week photo shoot. You can see ALL the photos here.

Clockwise from top: Agatha (Speckled Sussex), Coconut (Welsummer), Harris (Partridge Rock), and Awful Waffles the Destructor (EE).

Wow!! You have just about everything in your spacious set up! Must make for some happy chickens! :yiipchick:yiipchick

Thanks so much for sharing! Are the fans to keep them cool during the summer? I didn't even think about that. I guess when it gets really hot around here, I can run an extension cord across the yard to the coop.

What's that long blue thing in the 3rd picture? Looks like there's a pvc or some type of hose attached?

I set up a bucket with a drain inside the gazebo and the hose drains to the greens "bar"....I made a raised bed and then covered it with metal shelves some one was kind enough to toss out for me to find! :D

Yes, the fans are for summer cooling...it really does help along with ice in the water..

What a fantastic (or shall I say, EGGSCELLENT) idea! I love the "greens" bar idea! It'd be find for them and especially great if I go out of town or if they have to stay confined for whatever reason.

What an adorable flock. I loved how scraggly mine looked when they were at that stage. Don't you wish they didn't grow up so fast so you can enjoy the baby cuteness a little longer? Love the name Awful Waffles!

Actually, I can't wait for them to grow up; I know they're going to be so beautiful!

Awful Waffles used to be just Waffles... She has earned her name by walking on her sisters at every opportunity, and doing more than her fair share of "redistributing" mulch in the garden, AND because she hasn't figured out how to drink from the nipple waterer like a civilized chicken- she kind of attacks it as viciously as possible.
