They have been around forever.

The Rosecomb is one of the oldest bantam breeds of chicken. The earliest surviving records of the breed are from the 14th century in Britain, though it may have another point of origin.[1] Their popularity as an ornamental breed first took flight after King Richard III began to raise them.[2] Their popularity among poultry enthusiasts continued in to the 19th century, and Rosecombs were shown at the first North American poultry exhibition in 1849, as well as being admitted in to the first edition of American Standard of Perfection in 1874. Today their widespread keeping by breeders persists.[3]

Here are the new additions to the Crazy H-Bar Ranch: I know carriebean will help me remember!

This is a Olive Egger, thanks Krista. We all just love those fuzzy cheeks.

Don't remember which one this is...

This one is the RLBW Splash.

My favorite for now, a Cream Crested Legbar.

Another forgotten breed.

Another one I don't remember...

My other favorite, a Super Blue Egg layer.

Great meeting a few of you at the Norco meet up yesterday. I'll have to learn everyone's online and real life names as we get more involved. My 3 boys had a great time. I think I fell in love with Black Australorps! I can't remember who had the pair she was selling. Now I need to find a local breeder who has exhibition quality stock.

froggiesheins - my boys had a blast with your Sermas! For sure we will consider this breed when they get ready for showmanship. My 8-year-old might be ready now! Thanks for the breeder info you gave me! This is one of my 5-year-olds holding one of your birds. First time he held a chicken!

Hope to see you all at the next event!

That is a great picture I remember you taking that yesterday, It was great meeting you and your adorable boys.

Nice meeting you Martha. Look forward to seeing you at the next event. My boys had a good time. We left there to go check out a coop for sale that we found on Craigslist but it was poorly designed and too heavy for what we need. Based on our area and the heat we get, we think we need more run and less coop! We are just going to convert a cabinet into a "coop" and create a heavily shaded and well ventilated run.
