Hi. I'm thinking about letting my hen hatch some eggs but I'm still not sure. Is anyone selling fertile chicken eggs in or near Garden Grove? There's a listing on craigslist but just seeing if there are other options...thanks!

Hey So Cal chickeneers, I have a very wierd question.

Iis there anyone from the High Desert area that has chickens and a nice coop and run that I can come and look at? I am completely stumped on the overall structural design and integrity of my run and need some first hand looks at a run to get a better understanding and knowledge.

have you searched "coops" through BYC?
You may find quite a few examples that way.

Hello! I am in Alpine (East San Diego County), CA. I am new to chickens but I dove in head first! I currently have a Rhode Island Red, Silver Laced Polish, Easter Egger, Cream Legbar, and an Olive Egger, along with a plethora of other animals. I am in love with having chickens. They are all so funny and have such different personalities. I have already learned so much on this site!
Hi! I recognize your area, I have family there.

There seem to be different opinions about mixing breeds. In my experience a happy mixture of breeds or even large fowl with bantams is a function of the individual personalities, age, quantity, and the housing/free-range arrangement. This observation comes from my flocks as well as others who have large and small groups of young and mature birds.

Enjoy!

Yes I have looked in there, but because of the way my mind works I need a more visual hands on approach.
I can appreciate that =)

Sorry you just missed a meet-up on the Los Angeles Urban Chicken Enthusiasts board for a coop building seminar. Here's a link to that and some further discussion. You may find someone this way.

Hi everyone! I am looking for some Bantam Cochin eggs for my broody to hatch. Does anyone have or know of someone who might have some eggs to buy? Wanted to see about getting some locally rather than shipping. Thanks!
