I can and will oblige as much as I can..... However, just to be clear, I'm not a breeder. Don't know if you want random eggs. (I've read your chicken, farm and family adventure thread on/off.) I just have a backyard menagerie/ collection of 7 heritage and/or rare birds, 2 EEs, and just the one SF roo. I do have a SF pullet and she's the youngest of my flock. I'm hoping she'll start laying by the end of March. If you still want them, let me know what days you want me to save and I'll do it when the time comes.

I read your post as all Favs Oh well. I have about 40 mutts breeding up a storm. I love them

Hardware cloth is the construction wire of preference.... Gauge Is probably around 19 gauge.... but its woven so closely its hard to get a tooth in for ripping.

The holes are either 1/4 x 1/4 or 1/2 x 1/2 inch depending on where you buy it.

you can get it at Lowes and at Home Depot.

If you go to Ace Hardware you can buy the lenght you need by the foot. Or any other standard hardware store. Ace TrueValue... etc.

I have actually found the old tyme Chicken wire or hex mesh the kind "Grandpa" used to use for chicken coops. its 16 gauge. Been delegated as stucco wire. I still wouldnt consider it dog proof...

heck even chainlink isnt dog proof if it isnt assembled correctly.

For what its worth the larger the number the thinner the wire. Same goes for sheet metal and electrical wire.

My next coop will be mostly covered with 12.5 gauge Aviary wire... the kind that will contain MaCaws.

the above is of one of my RIRs and my Wynadotte's. Below is a pic of the coop and run just after construction. The other coop was attached to the right side the following day.

Hi, from experience I have found that coop too be too small for more than 2 large fowl hens, and they need to be really friendly to sleep/nest in that space; one wyandotte will barely get in the door, 2 or 3 bantams would be happier. If you remove the nesting box and extend the coop in that direction it would help.

There is a larger version of your coop which which is bigger in all dimensions. It is better suited to 3 or 4 light body large fowl hens, 3 if they are about the size of Marans, 2 if they are Wyandottes.

Your run will be a great play area =)

From the desk at the Crazy H-Bar Ranch;
Suzie Cupp is making up some amazing name tags for the meet up. If you would a name tag(s), please let her know what you would like it to say. These badges will come in a plastic holder so we can use them for future meet ups. I think $1 each should cover the cost for the supplies to make these up. Of course donations are also welcome. I will be wearing mine!!! But it won't say Suzie!!!!
