CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread

Trust me this is on going. LOL Then again, he does move which he was never supposed to do. His right side isn't as strong as his left. It's the side that was paralized. I swear I know I'm clumsy, but Kotah is just so uncoordinated. Then again he can sure handle a game controller pretty well. LOL His use of a hammer though scares the life out of me. I guess it's a good thing there was no room in the shop class, or I'd have to be rushing him to the hospital every week with no issurance. Then you add the fact he's 15, 6'2" now and has those great big feet! I'm surprised he makes it to the bus every day without tripping. LOL And I keep telling him that there's nothing at all wrong with tall men, so stop hunching. Maybe he's looking for change on the ground. hehe

Unfortunately that doesn't just apply to teenagers. My son is 32 & such a great help to me when he is "on task" & such a great frustration when he is NOT!!!!!! LOL. He has been great lately.
We just got back from Wheelers's feed out on Woodland Ave. out past Modesto. Another "chicken lovin" friend said she had just switched to King feed & got it there. It is a $1 more per bag but they are micro pellets, the same percent protein & made with white corn so the white birds don't yellow from it. She said they waste less & seem to convert it better so she thinks her feed bill is actually less with the new feed so I am giving it a try. I took their last 9 bags but they order every Tues. They don't deliver it like I have now but I can make one trip a month maybe. We'll see. I told Aaron to let the feed they are on no run out & then we will refill the feeders & see what happens.

Karen let us know if they really eat less. I swear I can't keep up around here lately.

I'd like to keep these 2 brown chicks, but I know they'll just keep eating more and I need to feed the big birds.

I thought one of my Lionhead does was pregnant, but she sure doesn't look like it now. I think I need to just not say anything till I actually see babies or I jinx myself. Maybe she just went on a binge and was getting a little fat.

Yep, all 4 of ours were the same way. I always tease my youngest that it was a good thing he came along right before his oldest sister hit the teenage years cause he wouldn't be here if she had!

I mean I'm so glad we have him but seriously I didn't have had the courage to do it again after her. She was, what I now know, my "challenging" child. She's 31 now and can still be a challenge at times but she "totally likes me again these days" (her words) which is saying a lot given her tumultuous years! Luckily none of the others were quite as challenging.

And yes, if you think your teens have no skills just watch them play their video games! I'm betting they have some very advanced skills!!! It's also a good way to bond with them. I know it's greek to you but they will usually show an extreme amount of patience in teaching you how to play because this is their passion. It took me awhile but I finally figured out this was a great way to stay close to them. It also shows them you care about what they love as well.

The good news? They do grow up! All of our kids are successful in their own way and get smarter and smarter and more appreciative of the things we do and what we did in the past. And if they don't? Oh well at least we don't have to live with them anymore!

Why can't there me more chicken people around me! I need a rooster for a couple of months, preferably a jersey giant. Sounds wierd, I know, but here is my logic. Since I counted all my little pullet chicks, all less than 10 weeks, and I only have 12, that means I'm going to have all sorts of coop space once I get rid of all the little roos. So...I need to hatch more chicks

but i'm tired of hit or miss shipped eggs. I have 1 JG pullet that just started laying last month and another that looks like she is on her way. I figure they're more likely to accept a roo that the old bitties that wouldn't take the dark brahma I used to have (they messed him up something good...then he yanked out every feather on the head of my BSL). Oh man, I guess I'll hit the swap meet up on saturday, Stockton can't come soon enough.

Dark cloud is out in force.

My dog was being attacked by a Pitt, so I grabbed the broom to get him to let her go. Ended up being a bloody mess and the dog came inside my house to attack her again. Then when I was pushing the front door closed he managed to get my middle finger, which I'm over wrapping to point at my nextdoor neighbors since they stood on their front porch cracking up and then went inside and laughed and told Makayla her dog was dead. I am in need of some phone numbers of some old friends, so I can have them cruise my block and scare the heck out of these lowlives. Not one person called 911 and while I was fighting the dog off my son had 911 on the phone and all they did was report a dog bit to AC! I get a phone call! I'm screaming "Help us, it's in the house attacking!" and they hang up and report a bit??? AC says it's because all I have is a cell phone.

So your the one that bought the king feed out at wheelers! I went today to buy some because I'm almost out and they didn't have any. I love the Pro Am show and grow. I love the pellet size for my bantams. When u went to Wheeler u probably drove right past my house. I love on Dakota and woodland (the last house when u are on Dakota turning on to Woodland. I started buying king feed right after I got my call ducks in October. For awhile I was the only one buying it and they would order it just for me. They said they should get some on Tuesday. I was surprised when they said it was sold! Lol

OH MY GOSH KIM!!! Are you OK? Did you go to the hospital? Oh man! You need to get out of that place!!! I know what that area is like, I had one of the scariest moments of my life not to far from where you live! It's not you! I'm afraid that town is no longer the sweet little family area it used to be when I was young and used to go visiting relatives.

Did the cops ever show up?

I'm alright. Isis is pretty sore and beat up. It could have been much much worse. I've spent all day trying to find out how to file a complaint against the dispatcher though. I do feel like someone beat me up. Man I hate being out of shape and old.
