Thanks you!
I think everyone is very busy not. Not much action on the Forums.

Wish my busy had to do with holiday stuff. Just more of my black cloud following me.
I forgot to lockdown some eggs, btw. Hear peeping and thought it was outside my bedroom window in a brooder. Nope! I have chicks in the bator. No water or anything and they're hatching. I've been doing dry hatches and sometimes they don't hatch after lockdown. This time I totally forget and chicks are poping out. LOL I may have to forget more often!
Great News on the Chicks!
I put 11 out of 12 into lock down last night. This is my second try and am using local eggs, so the dozen eggs cost me 12 dollars. I am using a Hovabator Genesis--the digital one. Last time I had 2 out of 12 make it to lockdown, but they did not even pip. I think the egg turner made the eggs too hot at the beginning. This time I lowered the temp one click(it uses dip switches to set the temp) during egg turning and then put it back up one click at lock down. Hopefully they will make it. If not I have one of those water weasels and a Brinsea thermometer coming to help figure out what is going on with the temp. The two thermometers I am using now are saying 100.6 and the other says 99.3, which should be right for a fan forced incubator.
There was a thread yesterday on the Incubating forum about lockdown at day 16. He said there is research saying that is better for the chicks. It seems like he got a good hatch. One person said that the chicks are actually tougher than we think. Maybe hatchability has more to do with the health of the parents and if shipped, the treatment of the eggs?
Oh I hope these hatch
