CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread

Crud. Woke up and hour ago and my neck and shoulder are killing me. I think it's the cold. Went to get Kayla's clothes together and she says she wanted to lay on my bed and watch TV, so I told her she WAS going to school. She says "Sully grandma, there's no school today." Then Dakotah just now walked out of his room. Who stole friday??? I'm going back to bed and see if I can get my neck to stop hurting. I spent yesterday thinking "If I could just sleep in and rest!"

Sorry your neck and shoulder hurts so bad! Sounds like you finally slept but it must have been a terrible position. Hard to get comfy with that arm I bet.

Where'd everybody go? One minute we are reading about the cool Polish and the next... Did the mother ship finally come to take her children home?

I'm in the foothills, east of Auburn. I agree that Granite Bay is not going to be chicken friendly. Neither will Auburn, if you're in city limits - outside of city limits you'll be fine.

As for rattlesnakes, in the 12 years we've lived here, we've had to deal with 3. Area's like Newcastle will have a lot more to deal with because of all the rocky outcroppings. There are areas of Auburn that also have the rock outcroppings (like between Auburn and Grass Valley) - they would have a higher percentage of rattlesnakes too.

My husband doesn't like snakes either, but we team up with our shovels and stay out of striking range. (roughly 3/4 their body length) Just don't invite them by letting weeds grow really tall. If it really bothers you, you can call Ramirez Rattlesnake Removal and he'll come and take them away.

That's good to know! Right between Auburn and Grass Valley is where we would love to retire someday. Good to know there is a service that will come take them away.

Anyone heard from Kim? I'm getting worried about her.

On the snake issue. We've had to deal with rattle snakes over the years but as someone mentioned, they are docile and don't come after you unless provoked. Having all the animals has helped that they usually come on the property but I have had two dogs and a horse bit but all they do for the animals is benedryl as long as the bite isn't where the swelling will impede breathing.

Having someone to call take care of a wayward snake would be good.

Lost my boarding pass. So wish the Mother Ship would come back.

Just ache too much to sit here long guys.

Hoping I can fell better and again get get something fixed on my car, so I can meet some FB people to pick up chicks.
