That is just horrible, I hope you will get his stuff back, the only time my house has been broken into was by my brother, who was using drugs at the time. Amazing what people can do to you after you go out of your way to help them.

You don't see nearly as many turkeys shown as chickens, ducks or even geese. But you can certainly show them.

I had the same thing happen to me when I was young. Cops say it's often someone you know when this kind of thing happens. I had my "best friend" steal just over $600 from me and a gold pendant worth $800 that my favorite Aunt gave me. That was a LOT of money back then (mid 1970s). I had been saving up for months with money I made working in the machine shop. I trusted her with everything! Another time a "friend" took my Dad's spare keys to his car, using a visit to the restroom as an excuse to get to the back of the house, then when we we're sleeping he came back and stole my Dad's car!My house got broken into yesterday. I spent from 5 or 5:30 calling the police, because it wasn't an emergency and the non emergency number was a complete mess. They said they couldn 't put in a call because the whole department was on a Condition Yellow. I was told to call back after 9pm, but just before 8:30 I started again. Took 7 tries to get through. Then I got a dispatcher who kept asking why I hadn't reported sooner. I told her what I had been told and she sounded surrised. She asked if a call had been put out and I told her no, so she put one through. She wasn't pleasant either. So the cop left about 11 last night with report and pics in hand.
We know it was Dakotah's best friend. He's only ever had one other person over and that was once. They stole his PS3 and bunch of games, a camoflage bag and all his pillow cases and then Dakotah asked if I had looked under his bed and I said no. I spent over $100 after Christmas to buy him a BB gun and things to go with it. It had never been used since I haven't found a place for him to shoot it. The took that and filled the magazine and left what was left in the bottle. That thing sits against his wall way under the bed. He seemed to think it would help if anyone ever broke in, but it wasn't ever loaded and was in the box. DUH! There's other things missing too. This kid has shown up at least once a day for 4 days straight. He asked to spend the night on sunday and I said he needed to get his grandfather on the phone so I knew it was ok. He ended up calling a friend and going there. When I went to talk to his grandfather yesterday, because I just had a feeling, he said that he hadn't been home in 6 days. Then he said he had been hanging out with some bad people and he was just tired of him. While I wason the porch talking to him and the uncle, the kids younger brother went to the car to talk to Dakotah. I guess he's doing drugs and just getting out of hand.
I'm so upset. I've spent the last 2 years treating this kid like part of the family. He's here weekends (Dakotah was with my daughter this weekend), he's gone to family functions, birthday parties. I even take him to Santa Cruz every sept for the Cheer competitions my grand daughter participate in. Family even asks how he is when I'm talking about the kids. Dakotah is just so down and bummed out. He has a few friends, but this was the closest one and he's just heart broken and upset that things will never get replaced. Man am I tired of the way life around here goes these days.
x2So sorry Kim!
