Wen tout to work on moving some of the birds and found one of the tiny cockerels laying on the ground. He was cold and barely breathing. His crop was completely empty. I used a syringe to give him food and water. Used a hair dryer to warm him up and set him in a plastic tub. I had to run out for a while and just got back and he died. I'm so mad. I just got these birds on Monday and I wanted to get pics and learn more about him. The pullet from the other pair isn't very perky. I sure hope I didn't buy sick birds.

I just remembered that from all the various tips here on BYC.

I'm sorry this happened! How sad. I would be very angry too if the seller knew that these birds were that sick and still sold them to you.

Oh Kim! I'm sorry! Sounds like failure to thrive chicks. They don't eat or drink and then they die.

Chickster Joe, thanks for the tip. I'll do a search on these movable coops. I've seen threads on tractor type coops but they are small. Good to know there'a info about the larger versions.

These were young birds. Way past being chicks. I bought them at auction this week. They seem to be moulting, but this little rooster was really active and filled out and he was just fine yesteday. I stuck the little pullet in with the other one and her roo, but they have different colors and markings and I intended to take pics of them today. Instead I lose one. The main reason I bought them was for THAT roo. I loved his color and I wanted something a light color. Just getting frustrated with failure.

All of my coops this time around where supposed to be mobile, but didn;t turn out that way. I wanted t ohave everything done today on my yard, but had too much spur of the moment running to do.

Now Makayla is complaining about her mouth hurting and she has 2 sours in the inside of her mouth just under her lips. If some stuff we have here for use after oral surgery doesn't help I'm taking her to the OR. She's rinsed with salt water for 2 days nad it isn't helping and I don't want her feeling like this. Better to do it tonight since tomorrow I am trying to get to cheer competetion for another grand daughter.

Just got back from the ER. I feel like I've been run over by a truck. Sure hope I make it to Stockton in the morning.

Kim

Ask Karen. I have a dark cloud. My husband used to ask if someone had put a curse on me. I think so.

I didn't wake up until !!am. I didn't have anything ready to go and missed my other grand daughters performance. I'm a little disappointed. When ever she has anything going on, my daughter says the first thing she asks is if I'm going to be there. I really love going to watch her too. With the 3 oldest either out of high school or graduating this year, my 2nd grandson not doing sports and Dakotah just not doing anything extra, I kind of live through this grand daughter and the things she does. Hope the younger ones all get into something.
