I have a situation in which I'm not sure what to do.
I'm not going to name names because you know the person.
I wanted some more chickens from a good breeder and this person recommended a breeder who sells hatching eggs. Expensive hatching eggs that have to be shipped a long way. I don't have an incubator, so I asked this person if they would incubate the eggs for me. They agreed. I've been on the waiting list for the eggs, for months, and they are finally ready to be shipped, so I contacted the person with the incubator. They said that their good incubator was being used but their Hovabator was available. They recommended that I wait for the Brinsea incubator because the Hovabator doesn't work as well. So, I checked with the breeder to see if he could wait, and emailed the person with the incubator back, asking them to contact the breeder to arrange the date of shipment.
That was on the 18th. No response from the person with the incubator, so I sent another email to them on the 22nd. Still no response. They have been posting on BYC all during this time. The breeder is wondering when and where to send the eggs.
I'm not sure whether the person with the incubator no longer wants to do it or what. I'm not sure what to do.
I have a friend, who also has a Hovabator, who might incubate the eggs for me. She has done it twice before. She lives all the way in Redwood City. I also know someone closer to me who has an incubator but has no experience using it. These eggs are costing me $55 for a dozen, so I want to be sure to make the right decision.
What should I do???
