This was just posted on the National Heirloom Expo's facebook page:

Dates for the 2012 National Heirloom Expo have been set. Make plans now to join us at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, CA on September 11,12, and 13 for the 2nd annual pure foods fair!

Whoo hoo!!! Another event to add to my 2012 calendar!!! We are planning on camping at the KOA again! It would be fun to have more people join us!

I so wanted to go that this year! But the SO's job doesn't allow him to take days off yet...

I am so excited!!! I just had to share with someone. So we have been looking for property in the UP, and there was one we were interested in but it was a little pricey. Today the owner posted it up again and it went down $5000, so it's now $30000. It's a mobile home on 17 acres so we would live in that until we build. The problem is there are no jobs up there so we would have to stay in IL and work a little but the monthly would probably be less than $250. I'm so torn!!

If you are still in CA next Sept, maybe you can go! It was really a nice Expo and fun to meet with other chicken folk before and during the show. I will be trying to organize a group camping trip for that week at the Petaluma KOA. :)

Were there a lot of chickens? I was hoping to see many different kinds in one spot and to see the pure foods expo with the seeds and hearing those speakers would have been great.

There weren't really that many chickens there but it was the first year for the Expo. It was such a success that I'm guessing that there will be more next year. If you want to see LOTS of chickens, go to the Stockton show in January! :)

This is the one I want to go to! I lived in Stockton for a few years. Got my first degree there. Love the area. Looking forward to making it to this year's poultry show but since we live on the other side of the pass this kind of stuff is always dependent on the weather.

ChicksterJo I can see why you are so torn! Shoot, a job is important! I mean you gotta eat but 17 acres for 30,000?!! What a deal! My friends bought here while he worked in Seattle and now he still works there to make ends meet. I mean they are doing what they have to do but it's tough on them!

Great price, but think hard about what you have to do to be able to buy it. Although at that price and once you pick a stick house on it, is probably going to eventually be a great investment.

I added the Davis event. I've had Stockton on there for a while now. I loved that show. Sunny I hope the pass is clear enough for you and Steve to attend. You gotta go!

Just though about something. I have a family event section in the post and I need to add my family outting to it. Although my family is finding other things to do these days. But we alway camp at the Standford Mother's Day Powwow. So if anyone feels like a little culture and fun, please come out and join us. Everyone is welcome at powwow. We usually leave for it early on friday and I'm almost always the last out on sunday. Even when Bill was alive we got to the point we were getting too old and had been going to buy an RV instead of the tents, but that's out now, so it's tents for us.

Anyway if any one wants to go, we could set up an area together.

BTW I'm the only breeder I have listed on here. I hope some better breeders put their info on here so I can add it. If you aren't going to have anything available until Sring, just add that to everything else and I'll update it later on when you have things going on.
