Good luck! I'm hip deep in roos myself. That's why I've been wanting to learn to process them.

Same here!!! who's got a chicken plucker?!!!!

My Dad would be pointing to me right now.

That was my job as a kid. Hoping to learn how to just skin them now so I can avoid the whole plucking thing.

But you know that is not a bad idea, if I got enough neighbors interested. They are expensive but if several chicken folk went in on one together... Hmmm, I may just have to check into that.

Great idea. The Nevada thread has so many people and lots of you are close.

I don't like healthy chicken I guess. I hate skinless and white meat. LOL

Mostly I plan to feed the roos to the dog. I'm not crazy about the taste of "roo". I like all of the parts of a nice meaty pullet though. White, dark, skin, no skin. I eat it all.

I wasn't surprised when I found out that chickens are cannibals. I turned to my DD (who was horrified) and said, "See? Everybody likes chicken!".

Oh I haven't been to San Diego in years. Last time we went I was shocked by how much it had grown! Lovely place to go in winter. When most of the northern beaches are fogged in San Diego is nice and sunny. I'd love to visit again.

So we're having crazy weather tonight here in Northern CA. There was a wall cloud spotted, which I guess tornados come from...we had a tornado touch down a short distance from us back in May (yes, I'm on the right thread, I'm in CA). That evening back in May I brought home chicks, during tonights storm, one of those girls laid her first egg! I think I'll call her Stormy!
