I have 4 wheaten/blue wheaten chicks that are 2 weeks, can't wait till they are older, so pretty. What color eggs does Toby lay?

lets see...these eggs came from Ray_n_Debi, they usually auction aracuana eggs but they offered ameraucana eggs on the what ya got swap thread. I got sent 10 eggs, 7 hatched, 2 were black and 1 was blue, I really like BBS so there are a few more from someone else in the bator now.

Periwinkle is what I was going to ame a hen if I had been able to get my blue wheatens going.

OK this is the reason that you don't take a 5 year old to a feed store. We got them monday??? IDK

I have no idea what these even are. They were in the bantam brooder, but I'm pretty sure 2 are not bantams. They have feathered shanks and black and brown markings on white. Then a little bantam chimponk that could be anything and the other is Lavender.

There names are Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snack. The two feather legged ones are Lunch and Dinner since they are so much bigger. I need to get some clearer pics and find out what everyone is.

here's a pic of my first little raised bed. Hard to put together after a yard and a half to warp, but it will work. The rest of the digging is what I'm doing to my whole yard. The oposite side of the yard is where I'm working right now to be able to level things out for the two little coop from the peach bins.

I have an idea and wanted to throw it out there.

I have the area for the two coops dug up and mostly smoothed out. What does everyone think of my planting bird seed before everything goes in. I sometimes get them wild bird food as treats. I'm thinking while I'm getting things done and until I go get my containers to grow things in for them, I could spread the seed and as it comes in it's something for them to scratch for. They'll have containers in the runs with wire covering so that whatever I grow doesn't get scratched out and they still have greens growing. I know the run area would be wiped out fast, but it would be something for them to do and eat in the meantime.

, I didn't know any feed stores stocked chicks this time of year.
I think bird seed is a great idea for their run. They would really enjoy it for a time and you don't really need to worry about any of the seed being invasive since they will wipe it out in short order anyway. Go for it?

There's always chicks near me. I really want to know what Lunch and Dinner are, but I'm seeing tiny feathering and I think they may be Gold Laced Cochins??? Maybe. They just look cool. I think Breakfast and Snack will be harder for me to identify. We'll see. I know they had Cochins in there though, so I'm almost sure I'm going with that breed on the other two. It also said pullets. How much you want to bet I have 4 more roosters by spring?

Yep, been dumping it straight in and I work everything in as I'm adding. I really thought the boards were much longer. They sure seemed longer and really heavy while I was moving them around, but I'm kind of liking this size. I can do square foot planting and be able to reach more. I need to put the next one together, but all the trouble I had with the first one is keeping me from just grabbing them and putting them together. I want to put a compost bin on the other side of the yard where the chickens will be.

Oh and my neighbor who is having her house rebuilt came by noght before last and asked if I still wanted the cyclone fence that runs across the front of her house. I wanted it for a dog run, but I may use it down part of the side of the yard and that way the chickens can free range even if the dogs are in the yard and I don't have to worry. I can't make it permenent though. This is a rental and when we first moved in they want to make sure anything I do can be undone, so I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to do this. I can set it up like a run where there's no cement, but it's a long fence.

I have plenty if you want it.
I won't post how many rabbits I have because it's not safe to do so anymore but I always have plenty of rabbit waste.
