CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread

I'm pretty sure the one mixed pullet that I got from you, and who survived the murdering cockerel is laying. She lays a darker egg than my Wyandottes, but not as dark as my one Marans pullet. It's a nice size too.

I'm pretty sure then that I have one laying too! I got a pullet egg yesterday and I have no FBCM pullets, so has to be one of them. This is great. I hope she supplies you with lots of eggs. All the moms are great layers, so here's hoping.

Congrats! And thank you for letting me know.

And it was in Oakland! Or at least he got the containers from the port.

I think this is one of the first things I saw about container houses

Just wanted to let you all know that Sunnydawn is having a family emergency. He mother in in the hospital and prognosis is not good. Those of you who are on the Nevada thread already know. I don't want to give details, I think that's up to her to tell everyone what's going on, but they need good thoughts and prayers, or whatever you do, to get them through this.

OMG I need to move now!

Just got a letter saying we are going to be added to the city which means my birds would have to go.

Not giving up my birds. Much as I hate the neighborhood and complain about this house, it's the last place I lived with Bill, so makes it hard. But I'm not giving up my birds and rabbits. Once the show this week is over, it's time to get even more serious about finding a house.

I'm not sure. I hope so. I'm going to talk to the guy down the street. He has birds too. There's a lot of people around here with them. If I do that, will it help anyone else who moves in here?

There is a Homestead act type of thing in California--if you have livestock for two years and no one notices, you get to keep them. Seriously, you should be able to keep them. In Woodland at the edge of town(about six blocks from the City Limits sign) there is a place with goats, sheep and etc. They have had them there since we moved here in 1992.

If not, that's another reason to move to a place with more space and better neighbors. Living where you do would be too terrible to endure.

Best,

Ron
