CALIFORNIA The Whole State thread

Just a little update on me. Went to the pain doctor on Monday and he said my back is very messed up (HELLO- I KNOW!). He said I am in the condition of someone that's 80 and he has never seen so much degeneration in someone my age. So he has two procedures that he thinks can help. I'm just waiting on insurance things to be approved. I am so bummed because he took me off work. I only had 16 days left but I couldn't handle it. I feel like I'm letting everyone down.
Doctor put me on morphine and Vicodin until I can get these procedures so I can't work taking those medications.
So I am hoping I get these done so I can go back for the last week.
Ugh!

So sorry to hear that Sarah! Sounds very familiar.

I have degenerative disc disease and at 23 they told me I already had 3 areas that would need to be fused. Doc said this level of degeneration was very normal in folks over 65 but not in 23 year olds!!! I sure hope they find the procedure that will take care of it for you! I'm facing more surgery too but I'm being a huge Wuss and putting it off as long as possible for now. My spinal fusion surgery took 12 and a half hours and even the doctor was horrified at how long the procedure took. Not anxious to go through that again even though I know methods have drastically improved since then and the area that is bad now is easier to get to and heals faster.

Good luck!!!

Hey if your neighbors are cool with it I'd try to get away with it!

I know you understand all my back issues. Yours are so much worse!
I have to say the morphine works by taking the pain away. I don't feel drugged, just normal :)

Quote: I don't know... sounds like your Doctor thinks they are pretty severe. Glad the meds are working for you! I don't deal well with morphine. It just knocks me out. Haha I am such a lightweight when it comes to stuff like that. Let us know when they decide what they are going to do. We will all be pulling for ya!!!

They are going to do a Facet Block one day and an injection in my butt to reduce the swelling that's pushing on my satica nerve. They can't do anything about the arthritis but I can deal with that. I'm just waiting on insurance to approve and the hospital to schedule it.
Today is the 1st day since Feb that my leg feels ok! Thank God for good pain medicine!

Thanks for posting the picture. Looks like a Cockerel to me but I could be wrong. The comb looks like it will go back and cover a lot of the head and there are fairly large wattles. Unless the chick is three months old of course.

Maybe you can hide him, if it is a him?

Bye,

Ron
