My daughter picked out a California White, but since s/he is the only one, I can't compare it to my EE's and BR's to see if it's Roo-ish. S/he is a little bit taller, and very inquisitive. I think I'm just imagining Roo in her because it would break my heart to tell my daughter s/he had to go. I've never seen her this attached to a pet and it's really sweet! She keeps telling the chick "It's okay. I'm your Mommy! Anything you need! I will take care of you." So what do you think? Is a 1 week+ old chick too young to sex? Thanks for looking!

My CA white towered over the other chicks when they were little, now she's the same size or smaller than the rest and she's not showing any rooster signs. Your chick doesn't look rooish too me so I'd say you're safe to not worry about it for now.

My daughter's favorite is our oldest Easter Egger and she is definately turning out to be a he I think!

I think baby roosters must have endearing qualities to kids! They seem more daring. Thanks for the reassuring thoughts! I'll just chock it up to the Amazonian Blonde Chicken towering over my teeny EE's and BR's!
