I am so sorry about Johnny, I know how you feel because I lost my call duck too.. I figured out what happened though, I believe Johnny consumed something unhealthy and was choking slowly, There was definitely something stuck in her neck as ducks will NOT quack if they are choking.

I’m so sorry. I didn’t get notifications on my phone
I’m thinking egg bound
In the future if you have a bird with these issues try durvet calcium 1 ml
If the egg isn’t out in 12 hours do another dose
It says injectable for cattle but it’s oral for birds
It’s a must in my medicine cabinet for them
Do you provide crushed oyster shells on the side for them ?
That poo in the picture looked like it has a lot of mucus with it
Laboured breathing
Not eating
Not bathing
Kinda leads me to egg bound
Possibly an infection
The warm baths were a good idea
When I do have one that needs a bath I do dry then with a towel and even a blow dryer if they shiver
I’m sorry the vet couldn’t get you in sooner :(

May I ask how did she look like when she died? My duck died to hypothermia and had her head under her feathers, If she died to choking she should be laying down
She was in her sleeping position
Laying down with her beak touching the floor
I noticed her little space has some newspaper in it, That might be how she died, She might have ripped it off and ate it and choked.
Maybe but I don't know

Thank you I was thinking egg-bound or an Infection because her acting weird was a day or 2 after she layed her first full sized egg (the one in the incubator)

Hopefully you can hatch her offspring
@WVduckchick hatches calls
She can give you tips on hatching them
