Call duck colors/sex

[Luv Ducks]

3 week old call duck he unique bigger beak than all other 7 babies and hes super friendly will sit in lap. His name is malehole jr looks like the dad just with a bigger head lol. Don't know what you call his coloring but he has green tint on wings and brown dots under his butt.

Such a pretty little fella. The guy where I got mine from the other day had a all black one with a white chest. I forget what the name was, a bibbed something or other, lol. It was bigger than the rest so I passed on it because I wanted the smaller ones. Mine still would be considered pet quality and not show quality but I was fine with that because I have all of those bigger ducks and didn't need it to be real little and it is a pet. Yours is sooooo cute!!!

Thank you! His name is malehole Jr lol. He is spoiled eating sweet banana peppers in garden everyday lol. I hope to breed more calls next year im new to them and new to breeding. He hatched late season july 15th on my birthday then had 3 more on aug 4th. They all done laying eggs and not mating anymore so I think thats it for the year.

Thank you for letting us know this. I just got mine and thought that the beaks looked a little bit longer than expected but they were supposed to have just gotten their color and are just now getting their heads with a green sheen so I think he was right about that. They are cute little buggers and I love the way they strut around throwing their weight around the big ducks. They for sure have Little Duck Syndrome and think they are Kings of the Duck Pen, lol.

You are most welcome and I am new to Calls also. I had never seen one until I went to our State Fair this month and then I fell in love. I had only seen pictures before that. It was within a week that I found some in my county on Craigslist so I knew it was meant to be. They are so stinking cute. The fella had all drakes, 10 of them and told me they were hens but olive beaks and quiet quacks gave them all away, lol. I have two larger drakes though so I was happy with boys since they won't hurt my hens and being drakes hopefully they shouldn't try to mate with them. They have 8 hens between them to keep them happy once they get out of Drake Jail in October. I hope you have great success in breeding yours. Someone else had some on Craigslist quite a ways away from me but unsexed and the boys would work better for me so it worked out great, I traded two large drakes for them and got what I needed and wanted for my mixed flock of ducks.
