She's definitely a mutt of sorts. Looks like she may have some snowy genes in play due to the chest markings as well as the lightly marked body feathers.Since this is a Call duck color genetic thread. I have a question about one of my call duck's color. I am very new to the Call duck world and have fallen head over heals for these little ducks. Last August I had bought some call duck eggs and put them under my mallard duck to have her hatch them out for me. We got five little puffs of fluff out of 7 eggs put under my mallard. The eggs came from a large flock with many different colored calls. Four of the call I know the colors on but one of them has me stumped. I have 3 Black Bibbed, one might be a chocolate bibbed, he has more of a dark chocolate color tint than the pitch black of the other two. There is Snowy drake and then there is this little girl.![]()
This picture was taken when she was around 2 1/2 months old with her "teenage" feathers. She changed very little with her adult feathers. Maybe just a hair lighter.
I'm not sure if she is a butterscotch or apricot or something else? Any body have any ideas?
