The membrane ha quite tough now even though been keeping moist... am I safe to try and pull off even if I see tiny tiny red lines?

I'd leave it like that for now, he should be able to push out on his own.

Is he still chewing and yawning, or does he seem to be struggling and moving around a lot?

He is yawning very occasionally... but just looks like is is resting... shall I just leave him alone to do it by himself now? Would he if strong enough be able to push the membrane off even if hardish? X

I'd let him be - you'll know when he wants out. He'll be pushing against the membrane trying to get loose and usually making a bunch of noise.

Ok I’ll leave him he is still quite happy chirping... the other one is now the same and very active and making lots of noise... but no progress eirther so might make a bigger hole to start him off... think that is prob the only 2 that are any good x
