Call Duck

A Macaw AND Call Ducks?! Good grief! One of the reasons I decided to forgo the idea of getting a Call for Pyrrhos's companion was because of the warnings against the noise. I love noise and stuff, since my dog is so freaking quiet(it gets lonely, having only South Park in the background lolol), but Mallards are enough for me! If I get a little bit irked whenever Pyrrhos screams at me for leaving her(even though I admit it's also adorable) I can't even begin to imagine what I'd feel with a Call Duck AND a Macaw lol! My dad had a young African Grey that liked to scream and yell, too(she flew away, sadly </3).

Anyways, I don't really have anything to add to this conversation, as I have zero experience with Calls other than things I've read. I just find it amazing and pretty admirable that someone can live with a Macaw and really loud ducks. XD

EDIT:
I do want to say, though, those ducklings are SO cute! And those pastels are absolutely beautiful - female AND male! :)

LOL! well, "technically" the calls are outdoor pets, the macaw is indoors... (er along with a flight cage of budgies and one pionus) the difference being the macaw has quiet times, these calls? oye. their as bad as raising babies... equally demanding, i am actually starting to wonder if i have two females, the colours of the feathers popping in ?? are looking like a grey and a blue female?? good thing i'm in the country!

Ha, yep, that made me laugh! You must have quite a tolerance for noise!

The other day, my boyfriend was out late at night while I was at home listening to music with my female call duck. When he came back home, he said to me, "I really loved how, even from far away, I could hear the duck squawking and you singing, as I approached the house." So, that was a slightly embarrassing moment for both of us.

If you don't mind the noise, keeping a call duck inside can be very fun and rewarding. Just be prepared to get woken up early sometimes and have to take phone calls outside.

Well, i dunno about tolerance but we've had the macaw for almost 20yrs, so used to is probably better, plus i have almost 3 teenagers so they are not exactly quiet either!

The macaw can yell through the phone, no doubt. The calls, in between, the difference is they yell more often, they are such sucks.

They will be living outside, that should be fun..

but for now in the house they stay, we upgraded the brooder last night to a dog crate, oh my goodness they went on for hours about their dislike about the change, they got over it finally.

As i said in my other post i am starting to think i may have two girls, which would be all get out funny, i mainly raise Muscovy and all i ever get are drakes(last hatch, 3 drakes, 1 duck) wouldn't you know the one bird i want a pair with, i get females??

I have a call duckling just like yours and I was told it is a pastel. You can "Google" pastel call duck and look at the images to see what it will look like as an adult.

Here are my new baby Call ducks I got yesterday. The yellow one is 10 days old and the other 2 are 2 weeks old. This is their first time swimming and being on the grass which they loved!!! Anyone know what the yellow one will be for color....a butterscotch perhaps? One is pied with a brown tone, and the other has a blue tone. I am very excited to see what color they will turn out to be and their individual personalities.
