What colour is this duckling? And will it be alright alone for a few weeks? Also we get him next week he will be 2 weeks, what do we do with him? Like pellets or crumbs and how do you tell the gender? I think that's all

Can you not get a friend at the same place your getting this one? they should have a buddy. Honestly, calls are typically kept in pairs and trios(1 drake-2 ducks) you can certainly do same sex pairs.

I own a pair there a bit over 8wks old.. They are drake and duck.



How to sex them? well by about 5-6wks the voices start to change, the girls quack the boys get this raspy undertone and don't truly quack. Some maybe capable of vent sexing but with bantams that is tricky, not as commonly done.

Sorry-forgot colour, i am bad at those lol i'd swing by the call thread and ask, mine are grey/gray so mallard and blue.

We are getting them from a care home where they hatch them so the residants can watch them grow and at around 2 or 3 weeks they pass them on. We were going to get a friend but only 4 hatched, 2 are called for and the other one we were going to get sadly die. There are 3 eggs in an incubator who we have a dibs on at least one so it would only be a few weeks.

Ok, understood, well a mirror and a stuffed toy, i'll warn you though they are needy! i raised my two in my house it took weeks for them to settle down, they finally now will be outside without calling incessantly for us, now perhaps because mine were so young, yours is a bit older but if it's with others it will miss them terribly if it;s alone. I hope you can find a friend, really quick, honestly.
