Little fuzzy butts <3 Part of me thinks a broody would be just slightly less stressful than a bator, if only for the fact that the hen takes care of everything and you can't hover constantly!

Haha...True! Well guess I am going to find out because I have only hatched in a bator! Getting mine set-up, just in case she decides to not stick with the hatch. I have no way of know until we try...right?

Yeah...but I wish you and your eggies best of luck! I really do hope this last egg comes through, I don't have any way to get another duckling to keep Wob company otherwise. I mean, there's the chance that he could bond with my cats, and I work from home anyway. but still.

YAY...good news Wobbles is hanging in there! The vitamins are giving her/him a boost!

#3 has its safe hole now so I think that should give it some time to some work

Wobbles is doing great! Wynaut is still in the shell, no external pips. It began hatching two days late, I guess it's taking its sweet time doing the deed. Send a PM to Lacry asking how long I should wait until I attempt an assisted hatch.

Wobbles need a better flooring, do you have shelf liner? Paper towels are to slippery.

I already have a silicone foam mat in there. Moved Wobs to the larger brooder; as I said that small box was just to keep him when I thought he might not have made it.

For the love of cheese, it is NOT slippery! I'm not an idiot, Lacry. I may not know much about hatching difficult call duck eggs, but I've raised farm fowl since childhood. I'm a vet assistant. I know the drill, trust me. This mat is specifically used to keep rugs from slipping on hardwood floors. I bought it from The Goose Mother website. Wobbles is fine!

I'm not saying your an idiot, I'm saying he needs something to work those toes, usually wire is the best because he can put those toes in the holes and work them. Once he gets strength in those toes they he'll be more stabled. Right now having them flat like that is only having him work harder and longer.

Climbing over me, the bed, and running after me through the house seems to be working his toes ok. I've also been giving him warm water "swims" in the sink, which he loves as much as drying himself under the heat lamp! So far his toes seem fine. I appreciate your concern and I wasn't trying to question your expertise, I really do appreciate your sage duck advice. <3

P.S. the mat is perforated, almost like a net or mesh, so there's that.
