Call ducks dying while hatching

I have call duck eggs that start hatching and then make their internal pip but then die after. Does anyone know why??

and sorry for your troubles. Calls are hard to hatch, especially nice typey ones that are closer to the breed SOP. They have short necks and short beaks, so they have trouble externally pipping and zipping oftentimes.

You might need to help them hatch, if you want successful hatches. Here's the guide I wrote about that:

@Pyxis that article was so helpful but when i assist I usually get them out fine but their yolk isn’t absorbed all the way should i put coconut oil on the yolk so it stays moist?

Sounds like you're getting them out too early. I always just open the shell enough that they can push out on their own when they're ready and then leave them to it. I haven't had one push out with unabsorbed yolk.
