Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Holy crap and I thought I was bad lol

I don't keep anywhere close to that many. I just like to have my pick and then I sell all the others LOL. Plus I have to make sure that I get enough girls to keep the boys happy :) Last year I did around 60 chicks and only kept 20. This year I'm adding a couple new breeds and a couple new colors to existing breeds so I'm doing around 150 chicks and will probably keep somewhere around 30. Then I should be done with the chickens too :)

Hey no judgements here! You've all seen how bad I am. I just can't stop buying. LOL. It's a serious problem!!! Like I just bought this trio, and I will probably still want to buy ducklings from you. Which oh!!! You have apricots right?? Are you getting eggs/ducklings in that color??? If so, me want!!! Haha. See?! Serious problem!!!

I have a pair of silver apricots. I don't know if she's laying yet or not though. I have 4 hens of laying age. I know the blue penciled hen is laying and that she lays a slightly oblong white egg. My buff hen was laying and always laid a fairly good sized teardrop shaped white egg. Someone is laying little round green eggs but haven't caught who. Could be the silver apricot or the normal penciled. Yesterday and today I got a small teardrop white egg so not sure if they're from my 4th hen or if they belong to my buff and are smaller for some reason lol

Okay cool yup want some of those! Lol

Cross your fingers this last egg makes it. Today is day 26, look like it internally pipped sometime this evening. I opened the other two, both dead, fully formed, unabsorbed yolk, died off the past 2 days.

Not exactly what I was expecting from 14 eggs. Not happy, hope this single one makes it.

That sucks. Hate it when that happens. Same thing happened to 1 of my little Ameraucana chicks tonight and 1 of my wheaten marans yesterday. The marans had even pipped externally, fully formed, yolk absorbed, not sticky or anything. The little Ameraucana was fully formed and absorbed but never pipped at all. Also had one Ameraucana that has severe head, facial and beak deformities. It's times like these that I hate hatching. I hope your last little one makes it out safely and healthy.

Thanks, sorry about yours too. I only pulled one of the two dead ones out of the shell. I hate seeing them like that. I was planning on buying one more batch of hatching eggs off of eBay but I'm not so sure now. Seems like shipping just beats the poor little guys up.
