Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Okay so I think I want to let them sit on a nest....several of mine are trying to go broody....I was thinking about leaving one nest....I'm just worried it will cause them all to stop laying....my blues are broody, my grey, my white (tweek) my pencilled, and several others. I've found several nests.

I've never had one sit but if they're anything like chickens it doesn't lol. I have 2 broody chicken hens in 1 pen but the others still keep laying lol

Thanks. I've already given myself a headache worrying about them since being at work and not being able to look in on them lol. They were both still alive and kicking when I left this morning so hoping they'll be ok.

Yeah I know what you mean. We went to the beach yesterday and I had Anconas hatching. Luckily they aren't as difficult so they did fine without me here. Hopefully you'll have little babies tonight!!!

YAY. Will be looking forward to pictures

Fingers crossed that all goes well and you should have some cuties waiting for you in Sept

Woo hoo!

And another little yellow baby! Hatched itself last night! I have to come up with names! Three more in lock down, and two more going into lock down today. So exciting

Final count...3 white calls and 2 black east indies. 10 shipped eggs made it to lock down so this was a 50% hatch. Overall I'm very pleased with the results and glad the stressing is over. At least until the 7th when my next duck hatch should start. Pictures to follow after I finish the feeding and cleaning chores this morning.

NICE
