Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Oh I love the 5th one down and the 3rd one up.

Who am I kidding? I love all the pieds. Totally biased here, lol.

Lol. The last 3 are my favorite too but I love 2, 5 & 7 too LOL. They're all so darned cute that it's hard to pick a favorite lol. I can't wait to watch them all feather in :) What a mess it's going to be with 16 of them in my bedroom lol

UH LISTEN WOMAN, its very clear you did NOT get my last Message.  You send those babies to me.  I'LL LET YOU KNOW WHICH ONES ARE SILKIES OR NOT..

lol

Lol. Nope, not going anywhere :) So sorry but these babies are all staying right here :) They will be ready to make you some nice little eggies by next spring :D

Do call ducks fit away or do they stay in one general area like Muscovys?

If they're content with where they are they usually stay just like the muscovy but they can and will fly away if they want to and have the means to do so. Some people clip wings to prevent it while some people keep them in aviaries or enclosures. They are also much easier prey for hawks because of their small size.

Okay thanks , I was gonna pin my girls ( like the clip piece if the wing off as a baby . )

I was gonna do that to all of my first ones . And when they have kids I'm guessing that they'll probably stay with the parents .

I do love call ducks and my grandparents owned 2 girl call for a whole then they flew away with some male mallards . Anyway I love the breed and all of those ducklings on here are SOOO cute .

The babies will stay with their parents for a while but once they mature they will be just like any other duck, looking for a mate.

FL law requires that they stay enclosed so mine are. If I was going to let them out I would just clip wing feathers to keep them from flying away and not actually pinion them as that is painful and permanent.
