Call Ducks Finally Hatched

Ok... What about 40% the whole time? My problem is that I have hatcher in my huge fridgebator but humidity stays the same throughout the entire bator.... So whatever humidity is in the hatcher is also what humidity the eggs are incubated at. I believe lacrystol did a test with not changing anything dring lockdown?

Results will vary depending on location, altitude etc so what works for me may not work for you. I've heard of several people incubating at higher humidity but it doesn't work for me. 40% is definitely too low for hatching though

Same, even the show breeder I got Wobbles from incubates at 45%, ups it to 65% for hatch but when I followed his directions the eggs were a bit sticky. So this time I'm sticking to 25% and won't bump it up until lockdown.

Lockdown is when you raise the HUMIIDTY and keep the bator closed and within three days they should hatch. Some take longer some pop out earlier.
thanks for the explanation Lacrystol. And reading the info on here regarding incubating from all of you guys explains why you call it the call duck challenge.

So Amy how are the eggs ?

Good! Their last candling before lockdown is coming up this Thursday. I took out the hygrometer because it was pushing up against the eggs when the turner went off and I was worried they'd get misaligned. It's consistently at 25% without water in the bator, and I'll put it back in when I stop turning.

So what should humidity be for call duck eggs during incubation? I am setting it for my new fridgebator. What should it be for lockdown? What would happen if I didnt raise humidity during lockdown?

First what are you settings he temp at?? And I thought we went over this but will try again..

40 is good but you can not leave it at that during lockdown, big commercial hatchers will remove the eggs to another BATOR and lay then down and raise the humidity.

I have never tested it at 40 I have tested it at 50 to 55 even at lockdown.. But did have to spray the eggs at least once on here due date...

This is good but in the summertime you may want to go a little higher..
