Call Ducks Finally Hatched

I've never seen a baby parrot, and now I don't think I want to. I thought that thing was a cookie until I found out it was alive.

awww. They're cute. Here's some miniature parrots I raised a couple years ago

Those are cute! Funny, I just sold some peacocks to someone that raises those.

They're a lot of fun but a lot more work than chickens. Having to tube feed every 3 hours while working 50 hours a week was hard. Did it for several years until I fell in love with my first chickens. I like being able to sleep through the night and watching them run all around the yard. Now I just have my pet moluccan cockatoo that turned 6 on March 26th. She's the sweetest thing and such a nut case lol

I know this is a dumb question, but how do they get fed in the wild? Are they one of the animals whose mother/parents won't look after them if they're in captivity?

No. The parents will but they don't turn out as bonded to people when they're parent raised. Hand fed parrots almost always turn out much more tame and that's why people do it. I let the parents raise them for the first 10 days because at birth they have to be fed every hour around the clock. At 10 days it's every 3 hours with one 8 hour gap each day. I would do the 8 hour gap while I was at work and then feed every 3 hours during the night. That's what made it hard with having to work at 6 am. Feed at 10, go to bed at 11, up at 1 to feed, bed at 2, up at 5 to feed, work at 6 lol. And they feed for 6-8 weeks until weaned. The times do extend between feedings though.

Yeah, cat caught it in the yard in 2013, so I nursed it back to health. Meant to take it to wildlife rescue, but never did, so now I have a two year old opossum. He's tame for a opossum, but he's still a wild animal if you know what I mean.

EEEE omg I love it! What's his name? And yeah, my skunk Petunia was the same way. She'd come and go as she pleased, for the most part. You should totally give your possykins a strawberry! It's the cutest!
