Call Ducks Finally Hatched

So... my girlie has made her crack slightly larger but that's all so far. Hopefully she will make a little hole soon so I can at least see that she's moving and is still alive in there :). I haven't heard any sounds or seen any movement of the egg so far. Hoping for some little signs to let me know she's ok. Today is day 24 :)

Yay!!! That is how mine did it too. I woke up in the morning to new baby Duckie (the one pictured) so bet you will too!!

I about died for waiting with my first batch. The second batch was easier since I knew they take forever after the first pip. Nothing like quail, quail just pop out, lol.

Is this your first duck hatching ever?

Yes. Only had 1 viable from my first batch and it quit at day 11 or 12. This is my 2nd attempt and only 1 viable out of this batch. So far so good though :). I ordered from another breeder for my 3rd batch and 18 out of 24 eggs were viable. 1 quit right away and 1 at about day 5 but the other 16 are going strong so far. Their hatch day is the 9th. I think I'm so attached to this one egg because, besides being my first duck hatchling, it's a penciled call. They're my favorite and I have 1 single male that could use a mate so really hoping for a female :)

The key is to give it a boy's name. I swear 90% of the time I give a duck a girl's name, it's a boy etc.

Just ask Candice (my male Mallard) and Dorothy (my male Rouen)
