Call Ducks Finally Hatched

k, i have a baby down.... it can't stand up, just pushes itself along... i came home and found it soaking wet and lame.... i can't rehab it in water cuz it still doesn't float... i read somewhere that babies have a deficiency that causes this...anyone know??? will save a chick help??? i have separated from the others so they don't keep walking on it and cause more damage... and i'm not sure if thats not what happened in the first place...advice please???
Ok well I replied from my phone but I see it didn't go threw, First how old and what kind of flooring does he have? Second he's got a vitamin deficiency so he will need two things, first get some Vitamin B complete and put that in his water. I use one pill per quart. Let it dissolve on it's own as he drinks the water he will get some in him. Second, give him a couple of drops of Polyvisol per day.

Check his legs make sure (if they others were stepping on him) that they aren't broken or swelled up..

For his flooring what I do is I put newspaper down and lay one layer of paper towels on top, you don't want to use just newspaper it's to slippery, he'll never get up. Now legs do take a long time for them to re-cooperate so don't expect him up and running around in a day, If after two days, you still don't see him trying to or attempting to get up, then I would make him a chair. Depending on the age and size it may take awhile before he has full function of his legs. I would also give him a stuffed animal, once he starts to gain some control, he'll try to climb it of course falling all the time but as long as he uses those leg muscles this will help Plus ducks do not like to be alone, so the stuffed animal will help or if you have a chick, I would put that in with him..

hes 3.5 weeks, and theyve been in a makeshift brooder that is a plastic storage tub half lined with newspaper and the other half with an old sheet or towel....i just switched to the newspaper a week or so ago, until then it was just sheets and towels...got the vitamin b...not sure what that other is or where to get it??? i have him in an old styrafoam cooler with towels on the bottom with a stolen stuffed dog toy (pups not happy about that) but he was still up all night peeping...i wouldve held him but was afraid id lay on him. i felt his body when i found him and he didnt seem to have anything broken or swollen, he didnt even seem to be in pain with the exam...ill fix up his water with the vitamin b...i need to know what that other stuff is and where to get it....thanks lacrystol!

Polyvisal is baby vitamins Walmart, cvs just about any where's need the kind without iron or you can get poultry drench at tractor supply that works just as good.
got it, she is drinking it well when i put her face in it, shes eating well too....loves those peas....she can move her lower legs, the problem seems to be at the hip joints... she uses her lower legs to boogie across the tub when she wants to....and she doesn't seem weak at all! i put some of the infant vitamin in the other babies water as well....i think it can't hurt and just in case....

My egg is due to hatch tomorrow but there hasn't been any movement...is day 25 supposed to be when it completes hatching out, or when it pips? Either way, with just one egg left I am going absolutely out of my mind!

26 days depending on your temp thru incubation, but i'm totally no expert! on day 23 they started moving and one early bird internally pipped....the rest on day 24....the troublemaker had to be peeled out on day 25 and the rest popped or was pulled out on day 26...all were ready....be patient! i know how hard it is.....believe me....i had MANY sleepless nights while i was incubating!

This morning my cat jumped up onto the desk and accidentally bumped the incubator, so out of panic I grabbed it and candled the egg to make sure it was okay. And I saw...nothing. The veins are all gone and there's no longer any movement. At all.
