I do mist and have a great hatching, I think it's just trial and error, you need to find what best works for you..

Usually when they get all there feathers, they feel more comfortable and go swimming. I'm guessing they don't want to take the Up and Down route right now. Give them time, they will break that habbit..they are about 8 weeks....they did love the tub....got a bath every night in the house, but i can't get them to go into the creek, even with me sitting in there! they won't go in their pool...but they do have to go up and over the side....i put a bunch of sturdy rocks they could hop on to get in and out...and i found lydia in it last night but she looked like she got there quite by accident and looked scared to death!....she did get out on her own when i stepped in to help her, but my other ducks can't even wait to get the pool filled after dumping and cleaning!....i need to face it... i have fraidie cat ducks! lol
Well you have to give duck at least a week in order to tell if there is going to be development. But you stated you just got them, the weather has been quite warm, it is possible that it could be growth starting or bacteria inside the egg. Can you candle it and send a pic?Can anyone tell me what this could be ?? I ordered 8 call duck eggs so they are shipped the egg in question had a funky air cell so i put in tray in my incubator... I candled it last night and it has a dark spot on the fat end in the air sack is still wobblywhat could this be they are on day 5![]()
