Call Ducks Finally Hatched

And I see you have CD. What is CD - it's the Candling Disease. LOL Yep, its where you want to candle EVER day to make sure they are growing. OUCH....

OH boy, your in trouble now. "CD" can take over and mess up your progress. Might want to try and get your disease under control. LOL, There's no medication to take for it, it's something you have to accomplish on your own. I feel for you.

You may also have "HD" as well, "Hatching Disease". This one is worst then "CD". but for now, We are all HERE for you to help you over come this disease.. LOL hahahhaha

LOL. Who said I wanted to overcome it? :)~ I do the same thing with my parrots. Don't want them wasting their time sitting on duds. Plus it's nice to know that you are or aren't expecting babies :) Once I know that I'm good :). HD.... now that one might get me into trouble. Thankfully it would only be myself that I'd be in trouble with but still trouble none the less lol. I just love babies!! But who doesn't? lol.

You know CD AND HD are very contagious diseases, they led to NCHEC disease, then the next thing you know your being called a hoarder.. Lol That's the club I'm in now...lol

What is NCHEC well this one is really really bad, try to stay away from it, it stands for NEVER CAN HATCH ENOUGH CHICKENS... GOOD LUCK WE ARE ALL WITH YOU TO HELP YOU IN YOUR TIME OF NEED...

please don't let the diseases get the best of you... Ha hahahaha

Hi everybody. I'm hoping someone is up and around. I have call duck eggs. 3 fertile, one didn't make it. I now have 2 due yesterday. Pipped, beaks out breathing okay for I'd say almost 24 hours now with no progress. I don't know what I should do. I'm guessing they should have been out by now. I don't want anything bad to happen but scared to do anything either. How long will they be okay like they are?
I've read the forums etc., but need some advice please!

So you can see the BEAK?? If not make a safe hole. Ducks do take a LONG time to hatch but if it's been that long, I would probably help. I can help you get him out safely but I would need pictures, if you have a cell phone, I will pm you my cell phone. and since these are call ducks, they do struggle..

Any news on the babies? How are they doing? Pictures please :)

I am happy to say, as of about a 1/2 hour ago, I actually have one in the brooder now...whew... it's not up and running yet, but is trying to preen itself. So I take that as a good sign. The other is still taking it's own sweet time but seems to be okay still.
Thank you Lacrystol for ur pm tips. It helped give me the confidence to help them!.
Hoping to be able to take pictures soon. Phone issues (it apparently didn't like being dropped), but supposed to be getting a replacement Monday or the next day at the latest.
Although, my sister has the day off and lives about 100yrds as the crow flies, maybe I can track her down and use hers!
Please keep your fingers crossed... I want them to be okay!!

Fingers crossed. How exciting. Congrats on the 1st little one. I still have 2 wks to go with mine. Looking like only 3 out of 18 eggs are growing :(. It's my first time with calls so it's a start I guess. Can't wait to see pics of your little ones.

Thanks to Lacrystol, which from now on I will refer to as "The Duck Whisperer" the other one is out!!!
She told me everything to do, short of what words to whisper in his little ducky ear!! And out he popped in a matter of minutes!
As soon as he is dry I will hunt my sister down and get her phone to take pictures to post!
I'm super excited!!!!
