Call Ducks Finally Hatched

After these duckie eggs I want some of your mille cochin bantam eggs and some d'Uccles. Still have to downsize the polish and cochin bantams that I have now first though :). Your website is great. Love all the pictures. I'm hoping for lots of different colors in the 24 new calls eggs. Getting them to the hatching point is going to be a long wait though :)

I've just added a Millie Cochin boy to this coop, my previous boy wasn't shooting off fluffy butts like I was hoping.. He shoots off great foot feathering, and the right amount of points even though he himself is slacking in these departments, but when it came to shooting off big buts not so good his downfall..

I just hatched out some blue splash Cochins and I have about 28 more eggs coming from different flocks hoping for more milles, for some reason the milles sell really good compare to any other color. I think it's because that particular color is still a working on color, it's not considered perfection yet..

But when your ready let me know will see where my girls stand....

Yes next year lets all do chickens..... so much easier to hatch sigh... less stress!
I need to get some more D'Uccles.  I have two but they are both boys :/

Boys lol bring one to me for my girl. Hay with chickens at least the wait isn't as long. Ducks just seem to take FOREVER even though it's really only five more extra days.. Lol

Okay thanks for all the help. I'll keep everyone updated. My two mystery ducks are due to hatch this weekend. There is a third but it was cracked. I patched it with white out >.< (I know, I know). The embryo was alive and growing but I think it died off in the past couple days. I can clearly see the other two moving but not him. Then two Anconas due to hatch next weekend. 5 Anconas the following weekend, 3 weekend after that....and the 12 on the way.

Ooooo no good on the white out, yek.. Let me know if they have any problems getting out I can help you with that..

Unlike someone people on here who just lets there poor little duck sit in the shell struggling, and struggling, even though it looked and called at her several times to help... lol, poor Rixie... Lol

Cool!  Other than the randoms we hatched this year.  Our bantams went like this.
I said to two of my sisters, I want to order bantams, but there's a 15 chick minimum and I don't want 15... anyone in?
Well they said yes.  So we split up between us and I got
2 D'Uccles  - roosters(1 is a Mille and one is either porcelain or self blue (still young) ,
2 Quail belgian bearded D'Anvers 1 rooster 1 hen
4 Assorted Japanese  2 hens 2 roosters

Then a few weeks later I said to them... want to do it again?
Out of that batch I have
3 silkies
4 assorted Olde English
3 assorted I don't know what. (bought just 5 straight run assorted bantams).

3rd time... yes we did it again....
3 Cochins
we also ordered another 5 of random straight run assorted
And Seabrights, but they were out so sent more random assorted.
So of the last batch I only know what the Cochins are lol!

All this after thinking 15 was too many to order....

Lol well it's not your fault, it's the HD disease kicking in, it's ok we're all here for you.

LOL. I still think I have you beat. I knew I wanted some of everything and there was a 5 chick minimum per breed/color so in order to make sure I got at least 2 hens of the ones I wanted most I ordered 10, and the ones I was ok with only 1 hen I just ordered the minimum 5. So 10 buff polish and 10 golden polish, then 5 silver polish, 5 splash silkies, 5 ginger red old english bantams, 5 partridge cochin bantams, 5 splash bantams and 5 easter eggers. Then they included 4 extras to cover any losses and I ended up with 54 chicks lol. I don't have anyone to split with so I have them all. I've sold 10 of them to various people but still have 44 chickens lol. 1/2 of which are roosters. And I still want others :). Then I fell in love with the calls and ended up talking my parents into picking up 5 of them from a breeder in SC while they were on their way down from NC lol.

Wow you really have the advanced disease, CHECs. Can't have enough chicks disease..

Yeah I know the white out was a lack in judgement. >.< I'll definitely jump on here if they are having issues. I've had to "help" so many of my button quail hatch its not even funny.

Oh!!! Just candled my "white out" egg and he jumped!! So he's still alive, the other two have started rocking too. Day 28 is Saturday so can't wait to see what hatches. They could be saxonys, welsh harlequins, or silver appleyards.

Wow that's great maybe a possibility then great!!!!!

OMG check this out girls

1000

This first egg is 14 days old

1000

The second egg is one week old.

Now there's no sponging at all and as you can see I have put a thin piece of tape around the egg that's attached to the turner. So no hand turning what so ever.

Woooooooo hoooooooo we may have a second method of hatching these bad boys on the way.

12 more days for the first one and let the count down begin....
