Whohoo! Just got my Ancona eggs I ordered from someone off here! Ordered 12 she shipped 18!! 3 were cracked but only one was leaking (the second I couldn't tell if it was leaking or wet from the other) so I patched up the two. I'm trying to think up a way to add an extra shelf to my bator....I have a reptipro. It's got a lot of wasted space and I have extra shelves. Might try turning cups upside down and using them to hold up the shelf.

We pretty much have the same method. Although I was going to cool the eggs for a few min each day as some have suggested, but since you have success without cooling I'm going to try it without this time. I'm so excited for the little boogers. My other 1 that's on day 13 today is still doing great also. I use the candler from incubator warehouse. It looks like a little LED flashlight but it's really bright. Right now the 6 just look like a red speck that's beating with a few tiny veins around them. Smaller than a dime but they're there There may be more but I don't pick them up to candle yet and they're all standing up in cut toilet paper rolls right now because of the loose air cells. I just rock them from side to side 3 times a day when I turn the other one. The 6 that I could tell had life I laid down this afternoon and will start turning 3 times a day with the other.

now for those that are stressing over there little ducks, check out the mess I'm dealing with right now

Came home to find my little tiny bantam struggling, yep he was at the smaller end of the egg trying to escape. Needless to say he would have never made it. So I gave him a helping hand...

Nothing more stressful then having a baby try to hatch upside down, once we got the head out boy OH BOY, let the talking begin.... Lol he chirped and chirped like crazy, I'm not sure if he was happy or chewing me out!! Lol.

Thought for sure I was going to lose him because as I was helping, he started bleeding really good and with him being so tiny, it would not take much for him to lose a lot of blood and end up dying..

So with a little bit of pressure to make it stop, now we won't shut up.. Lol. But as long as he chirps I'm happy because I know he'll be ok...so chirp chirp chirp away little fellower...

I've had button quail that I've had to help. Some have bled quite a bit and still made it to my surprise!
