Call Ducks Finally Hatched

400

Ta-da!!!

Awww. I love the black spotted footsie :) Looks like the yellow one still has light spots. What color is he? One you were wanting?

I have watched videos of hatching call ducks on the internet. Some just hatch right out like there is nothing to it. Others have such a hard time getting out you almost have to call in the jaws of life. What's up with that? Some beaks are smaller than others, or some of the babies are smaller? incubator tempurature or humidity differences? I had one that pipped through the inner membrane, I made a safe hole. It made no noise at all, and eventually just died in the shell. I recently ordered eggs to be shipped. The eggs are all different sizes! I am at day 18 and 7 are alive and kicking. So far anyway. I wonder if some of the smaller eggs are just too small. And if you start misting them after they have piped, what about keeping the incubator shut down????? I am seriously confused.

Perhaps my site can help you, go to www.lwbarnhouse.com click on the duck tab, underneath that I have TWO methods that I have used to successfully hatch call ducks.

I always advice anyone after you make the safe hole give them 24 hours to make progress, if no process then contact me, we could have gotten your safe hole one out safety..but it's nice to see your trying again..

Smaller eggs really don't make the difference, it's the breed.

You should not mist them once they are in lockdown.. That will cause them to drown, I know you would think "ducks that drown, that's stupid" but it can and does happen....also when you mist them during lockdown they have to absorbed that as well as everything else so it's really causing them to work over time which they can't handle that kind of stress...

But if you have any questions fire away, I do what I can to help.

The backwards one had a completely clear beak, no black what so ever except a tiny little spot on the tip of his nose, it's sooo cute..

AHHHHHH WHAT IS GOING ON, husband brought in Five baby chickens, I found five last night dead and one today dead. WHY DO I GET ALL THE DEAD ONES????
where are they coming from, I have no girls sitting on eggs except my splash, grrrr where is the mommy who decided to do this to meeeee....
